John Nutt of Old Bethlem

D.O.B: 1725 D.O.D: 1814

London merchant specialising in trade with South Carolina (c. 1725-1814). John Nutt and Richard Wilson appear as the co-owners, with Benjamin Smith and Co. of Charleston and Peter Bostock the commander, of the Black Prince under letters of marque in September 1756. This ship made a slaving voyage under Bostock and Francis Steine to Charleston leaving London 17/10/1756, a voyage with no ownership information in TASTDB. It has been inferred that the owners of the voyage were the same as the owners of the ship. John Nutt of Old Bethlem was possibly the same man as the co-owner of a slaving voyage from Bristol to Anomabu and Charleston in 1757.
