3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies

Co-owner of seven voyages from London, six with Joseph Alford (q.v.) among others, between 1699 and 1702. Joseph and Daniel Alford were London West India merchants, appearing in the wills of several slave-owners, e.g. attesting the will of Francis or Francis Browne of Montserrat in 1702 [where Joseph is given ‘Tho.’] and as executors of Patrick Browne of Antigua in his will made 08/02/1705 and proved 30/08/1706.  The Historical Register showed the death of Daniel Alford ’eminent West India merchant of this City’ in 1732: the will of Daniel Alford made 23/02/1728 and proved 03/10/1732 is uninformative, leaving everything to his nephews John Alford and James Alford.
