P_10433_0496 – Robert Atkins or Atkyns
Born: Unknown
Died: Unknown

London merchant, draper and mercer of Austin Friars and Moor Place Hertfordshire, and co-owner in 14 slaving voyages in an intense burst of investment between 1710-1712 with several recurring partners, including John Mills, Isaac Milner and Edward Dod or Dodd. We have tentatively concluded that two later voyages, of the Mary in 1731 and of the Susanna in 1737 (where the owner is given as Robert Atkyns) were also probably of the same man, despite the 20 year hiatus. He was in financial difficulty by the 1740s.
