3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies

Thomas Ellis was shown as a co-owner of a voyage from the London by the Judith under Thomas Upton  in 1709 in which the ship was captured before embarking any captive African people. In 1709 (the year of the slave voyage) the Judith commander Thomas Upton was shown as owned by Peter Hollander, merchant of London. In 1697 a Thomas Ellis was among parties with Peregrine Browne (q.v.) and others in litigation concerning ship accounts.
