In the will of Thomas King made in 1819 and proved in 1824, King left £100 to ‘my friend’ John Gordon, identified in the will as late of Guildford Street but now residing in Africa, and having been a trustee of the 1807 marriage settlement of Thomas King’s son Thomas Harper King.
