P_10433_0841 – Charles Savage
Born: Unknown
Died: Unknown

Charles Savage was shown as a co-owner of the Hanover Galley as a privateer in 1702 (in the same year it made a slave voyage from London to Africa and Barbados for which Savage is not shown among the co-owners), as a co-owner of a slaving voyage from London by the same ship in 1704 with an unknown outcome, and as a co-owner of a voyage from London by the Sidney to the Gold Coast and Jamaica in 1705. The 1730 will of Charles Savage senior shows substantial wealth (e.g. £10,000 to his wife) but has no definitive connection to the slave trade investor: this Charles Savage was a Portugal merchant fl. 1707, and had among his son-in-laws the London merchant Solomon Merrett (partner of Ezekiel Hall q.v.) and Hugh Boulter (1671-1742), the Archbishop of Armagh and Primate of All Ireland.
