Co-owner of a voyage by the Nicholson from London to Africa and the York River in 1700, alongside a group of co-owners including the established independent slave-traders Houlditch and Brooke and Daniel Jamineau.  Samuel Eyre broker advertised for sale at Lloyd’s Coffee House in 1713 the Godfrey Gally, Capt. Andrew Elton commander: this man was dead in 1720, late broker on the Spanish Walk and at Lloyd’s Coffee House ‘for buying and selling ships and Merchandise of all kinds and for taking up and letting Ships to freight’, when it was said that his business was to be carried on for the benefit of his widow and family by his servants.
