Thomas Meade [sic] was co-owner of three slaving voyages from London between 1698 and 1704, two alongside Houditch and Brooke among others. Thomas Mead and Peregrine Browne (q.v.) were among the parties to litigation in 1706 with Nicholas Gellibrand, concerning a voyage by the Ann galley, in which the cargo included 8 ‘negroes’ [captive Africans].  Thomas Mead appears as a Director of the Royal African Co. in Pettigrew.
