3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies
P_10433_1060 – Francis Lutwych
Born: Unknown
Died: Unknown
Co-owner of a slaving voyage from London by the Amity to Africa and Jamaica in 1702. He has not been further traced to date despite his distinctive name. The Whitehaven connections of the co-owner Isaac Milner (q.v.) and of the captain Edward Benson (q.v.) perhaps suggest that this man belonged to the Lutwidge family of Whitehaven slave-traders (q.v. under Thomas Lutwidge).
