‘Francis Haughton’ was co-owner of a slaving voyage from London by the Edward and Francis under Walter Rust in 1701, for which the outcome is unknown. The Edward and Francis sailed primarily from Barbados between 1699 and 1704. A Francis Haughton had a child also named Francis with his wife Ann, baptised in 1708 and buried in 1709 at St Andrew Holborn. A Francis Houghton was married at St Michael Queenhithe 24/01/1663; Capt. Francis Houghton, possibly the same man, was buried at St Michael Queenhithe 18/01/1701.
