Hutchison Mure (c. 1713-1795), London West India merchant, slave-owner and owner or co-owner of 8 voyages, three by the Loretta, between 1761 and 1765 (and probably also owner of a further voyage by the Loretta, in 1766 for which no ownership information is currently known), bankrupt in 1793. Hutchison Mure was shown as dying at Portman Square in 1795 in his 83rd year, ‘of a broken heart, in consequence of the ruined state of his affairs.’ The bankruptcy, renewed in 1825, was still running in 1843.
