P_10433_1586 – Hoden
‘Hoden’ was shown as co-owner alongside the South Sea Co. in 1725 of a slaving voyage from London by the Caesar to the Gold Coast and Jamaica . This is an important potential connection with Samuel Holden (1675-1740), Governor of the Bank of England 1729-31, but remains highly speculative. Samuel Holden, Governor of the Russia Company at the time of his death in 1740, had been in 1737 a member of the commission inspecting the bye-laws of the South Sea Co.
