Bacon left: his wife Elizabeth an annuity of £700 p.a. and the use of his house at Cyfarthfa for life; his niece Elizabeth Bacon £5000; his 'relation' Rev. Thomas Richardson an annuity of £200 p.a. secured on one of his furnaces; to his relative Anthony Richardson the debt owed to him by Gilbert Francklyn other than £1200 owed to the testator on a bond; to his half-brother William Bacon £500 and the property he [the testator] had in Virginia with others in the Dismal Swamp Co. He left his ironworks itself to Anthony the son of Mary Bushby and his coal assets to another of her sons, Thomas, whom he acknowledged as his children.
