P_10433_1697 – George Johnstone

D.O.B: D.O.D:

Co-owner with Robert Davidson of a slaving voyage from London by the Frederick to Africa and Grenada in 1765.  Conceivably George Johnstone, Governor of West Florida at the time of the voyage, whose brother was an early buyer of land (and enslaved people) in Grenada, although Emma Rothschild Inner Lives of Empire has no reference to slave-trading by George Johnstone.
