Will of Richard Jeneway of the parish of St Antholin London merchant made 24/06/1757. He expressed a wish to be buried where his executrix intended to be buried, or otherwise at the Dutch Church in Austin Friars. He forgave the indebtedness to him of Richard Jenaway [sic] son of John Jenaway late of the Isle of Ely but now married and residing at Manchester, other than a bond for £500 dated 25/03/1757, to be given to him if his [the testator's executrix] deemed it convenient. He left: £100 to Mrs [sic] Catherine Griffin spinster, niece of his executrix; £50 to Francis Hayford on condition he helped the executrix in settling his affairs; unusually, half his household goods other than plate and jewellery to his servant Martha Webber; to Ed. Povey 20% of what was made on his stock at Whitechapel under Povey's care and in the hands of Mr James Jacobs of Martin Abby. He left his real estate at Colne in Huntingdonshire and in Willingham Cambridgeshire and elsewhere in trust (Francis Hayford was his trustee)for the use of his executrix Mrs Elizabeth Eston for life and then to Richard Jenaway and his heirs in entail.
