P_10433_1956 – John Butler
Captain John Butler sailed for his brother-in-law Thomas Hall in two slaving voyages from London between 1732 and 1736. The John Butler who was co-investor with George Arnold (q.v.) and Thomas Truman (q.v.), both of whom were significant City figures, and with Thomas Burchill and David McDonald (neither traced to date) in a slaving voyage from London by the Betty to Charleston, has not been identified and was probably a different man.
