Will of Sir Peter Eaton of London knight. He said he had fully advanced his daughter Elizabeth, wife of Christopher Hill, but left her an annuity of £50 p.a. for the life of his [the testator's] wife and £150 p.a. thereafter on condition she [the daughter] and her husband renounced any claim to his estate under the custom of the City of London. He confirmed his settlement of £2000 and £3000 on his wife at their marriage. He left his real estate at Ralph's Quay and Thames Street, at Charlton and in Kent to his daughter Mary during her widowhood, and then to his grandson also Peter Eaton [later in the will he also left her his property at Woodford]. He had, he said, given his daughter Catherine Chandler more than his other two daughters and she would receive more under her mother's will, and he therefore left her only £50 for mourning. He gave his grand-daughter Elizabeth Eaton £1000 at 21 and an annuity of £40 p.a. until then, and his grandson Peter £50 p.a. for maintenance and education. He made his daughter Mary his residuary legatee.
