[OLDROYD, JOSHUA, WINE-MERCHANT] A Catalogue of all the Genuine Household Furniture, Plate, Linnen, and China, of Mr. Joshua Oldroyd, Wine-Merchant, deceas'd, at his late Dwelling House on Tower-Hill, the corner of Tower-Street: Consisting of Damask, and other Furniture, Bedding, Chairs, Tables in Mahogany, and walnut-tree, Sconces and Chimney Glasses, Stove Grates, an Eight-Day Clock by Webster, two Lead Cisterns, a large Copper, Brewing Utensils, and Kitchen Furniture. To be sold by Auction, on Thursday the 9th Instant, Aug. By order of the Executor. Will of Joshua Oldroyd merchant of Tower Hill City of London made 20/02/1752. He asked to be buried in the churchyard at St Dunstan in the East with his wife and children. He appointed Charles Bush of the Tower of London, Michael Thirkle junior of Ipswich and Abraham Kirkpatrick of Crutched Friars as his executors and left them 10 guineas each. He left his housekeeper Mrs Grace Mathews £300 and an additional £200 to be paid to her yearly until his son Charles reached 21 on condition that Mathews visited Charles if the latter were sick. He made Charles Oldroyd his residuary legatee, failing whom the children of Benjamin Oldroyd of Longton near Spilsby in Lincolnshire.
