3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies

Andrew French (d. 1801), London merchant, insurance broker and underwriter of Copthall Court. ‘A. French’  was shown as the owner of a voyage by the Marquis de Noailles from London to Africa and Cap Francais in 1777 under two English captains. Andrew French was active as an insurance broker and underwriter in London around the same time and was connected with the Nantes trade in partnership or association with Daniel Hobson. French was bankrupt in 1795, after his partnership with Daniel Hobson ceased.
