Sources: William Dunlop (1743-1815) was partner with Samuel Mure and the Rainfords, all of Jamaica, slave-factors. However, he would have been relatively young to have been the senior or name partner partner when Lloyd's Register 1776 showed the ship having sailed London-Maryland and owned by Dunlop & C.; and Lloyd's Register 1778 showed it sailing Quebec-London under the same ownership, both under A[itkin] Brown; it then operated as a transport until it disappeared in Lloyd's Register 1782. More detail on William Dunlop the slave-factor is at: https://www.ucl.ac.uk/lbs/person/view/2146667001. James Dunlop and Colin Dunlop were among the co-investors in slave voyages from Greenock in the 1750s and mid-1760s.
