P_10433_2356 – John Fletcher
Co-owner of one voyages from London in the Thames and almost certainly of a second by the same ship with the same captain, and three from Rhode Island, all in association with Peleg Clarke (q.v.) of Rhode Island. John Fletcher is described as London ‘agent’ of Peleg Clarke of Rhode Island in secondary sources, but was in fact his principal, as correspondence between the two men in the 1770s confirms. Probably the John Fletcher insurer, dealer and chapman of New Broad Street bankrupt in 1780.
