P_10433_2449 – John Kemble
‘John Kimble’ was given as the owner of a slaving voyage from London by the Finder to Africa and Kingston under Thomas Pool in 1755. [Captain] John Kemble merchant of London was owner or co-owner of several privateers in 1756-58, including the Ruby, commander Thomas Poole. No will has been identified to date. It appears likely that John Kimble or Kemble was John Kemble of East Ham merchant deceased, whose property was placed for sale in 1763: a tomb at East Ham was recorded in 1796 for Margaret, wife of Capt. John Kemble, who had been buried in 1745.
