3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies

Samuel McAdam appears as co-owner of a slaving voyage by the Peggy to Gambia and Antigua in 1765, captained and co-owned by James McAdam (q.v.). Samuel McAdam does not appear in the 1765 will of James McAdam. A Samuel McAdam of Kirkcudbright owned and captained the John and died on an 1768 voyage from Kingston to Scotland, upon which John Paul Jones assumed command of the ship.
