P_10433_2687 – D Mcky
D.O.B:
D.O.D:
‘D Mcky’ was shown as co-owner with [Richard] Oswald of a single slaving voyage from London by the Betsey to Iles de Los and St Augustine in 1774. He is not indexed in Hancock, Citizens of the World. A ship of the same name with the same captain made a slaving voyage from Bristol in 1772 for David Hamilton. The will of Daniel Mackay merchant of St Pancras London proved in 1776 is attached to a barely comprehensible account of a ransom transaction in 1757 for a ship named the Free Briton belonging to Hawkins and Hamilton: the will itself indicates connections to the West Indian merchants and slave-owners Duncan and Henry Davidson but has no obvious linkage to East Florida or Richard Oswald.
