P_10433_2697 – James Bradley

D.O.B: D.O.D:

Owner of six slaving voyages from London between 1774 and 1784.  He has not been identified with confidence to date. James Bradley of Senegambia as partner with Richard Worge [q.v.] had  petitioned in 1773 as owners of the Fly, impressed by Governor O’Hara at Senegambia. A London prize agent of the same name was active in the 1770s and 1780s,  while James Bradley of Berners Street was active in convict transportation in the 1790s.  The will of James Bradley of Berners Street (and also Assistant Secretary to the Board of Commissioners for the Affairs of India) proved in 1797 shows no obvious connection.
