P_10433_2715 – Thomas Copous

D.O.B: D.O.D: 1789

Owner of a single slave-voyage in 1775. Given as Tho. Copus in the TASTDB, but Thomas Copous was shown as a supplier of stores to the navy at Deptford between 1773 and 1782.  Thomas Copous of Gravel Lane was shown as Master of the Cutlers in 1778. He was buried 11/10/1789 at St Botolph. No will has been found for him to date, but the will of Sarah Copous proved in 1803 (PROB 11/1395/220) appears to have been that of his widow: she left £200 each to three of her daughters [all married] and the residual estate among four further [probably unmarried] daughters.
