Given as Brahoult, David, but in fact Breholt, of which name there was a family in London including Davy [sic] Breholt will proved 1701, father of John Davy Breholt and grandfather of Davy Breholt. John Davy Breholt was engaged in litigation in the 1720s and 1730s including known slave-traders among the parties, and was described as ‘merchant’ towards the end of the period.
