The will of John Carbin of Holloway made (despite his bankruptcy) in 1813 left monetary legacies of £10 and £30 to his daughters Cecilia and Patience, and the proceeds of the sale of his personal effects to be sold to place his son Joseph Henry Carbin into an apprenticeship. His trustees and executors were Henry Taylor insurance broker of Mile End and his niece Sarah Galton widow. He had settled his freehold estate at Holloway on his marriage to his late wife Martha Berryman and he confirmed that settlement.
