P_10433_2811 – Hueston

D.O.B: D.O.D:

‘Hueston’ is shown as the owner of a slaving voyage from London to Anomabu by the Antelope in 1798, with no record of its subsequent fate.  The owner’s name – given as Hueston in the 1799 Lloyd’s Register of Shipping – is possibly a phonetic version of Houston or Houstoun, but more likely a mis-transcription of T.[homas] Hughan (q.v.) who was shown as owner of the vessel in the 1800, 1801 (Shipowners), 1802 (Shipowners), 1804 (Shipowners) and 1805 (Shipowners) Lloyd’s Registers of Shipping. The 1801 (Underwriters) , 1802 (Underwriters), 1803 (Underwriters) and 1804 (Underwriters) Lloyd’s Registers give Huetson.
