In the will of Alexander Caldcleugh of Broad Green Surrey, made 16/02/1806, he left £1000 to his son-in-law and partner Joseph Reid from his capital in the partnership of Caldcleugh, Boyd and Reid. He left his real estate in Scotland to his son Alexander charged with an annuity of £20 p.a. to his [the testator's] sister Agnes Shaw. He left the remainder of his estate in trust (his trustees were his wife Elizabeth, Joseph Reid, William Borradaile of Fenchurch Street and Thomas Reid of Broad Street Buildings) with the income to his wife for life to support their children Margaret Trenham [?], Elizabeth, Alexander and Helen; in case of his wife remarrying, she was to receive 1/6th of the income, with 1/6th to his daughter MaryAnn Reid. After his wife's death the estate was to be divided among the five children. A second probate was issued in 1810, the effects having been under £12,500.
