3.1 million enslaved people trafficked to the British colonies

Thomas Lumley (1764-1820?), owner and co-owner of eight slaving voyages from London between 1803 and 1807, to several different points of purchase in West Africa and destined for Jamaica and Demerara. He is relatively well-documented by virtue of his papers at TNA, including his bankruptcy in 1813. He was probably the man buried aged 56 at St Mildred Bread Street in 1820.
