P_10433_2985 – Gibson
‘Gibson’ was given as co-owner of a slaving voyage from London by the Eliza to Bonny and Charleston in 1802, alongside ‘Whalley’, probably John Whalley (q.v.) of Charleston. This was very probably William Gibson (fl. 1801-1809), later in partnership at Charleston with William Broadfoot as slave-factors, with whom he was in litigation in 1809.
