The will of Fermin de Tastet late of Aldermans Walk takes the form of a brief note dated 19/10/1831 in which he said the position of his affairs was such that his son, also Fermin, should have control over everything so he could act undisturbed, and made over everything to him including signatory powers of the elder de Tastet's business partnerships subject to the younger man making up the sum of £10,000 to Fermina Steiger, as he [the testator] had done for his other daughters Antonia and Anna, and to the deposit of £2000, after the son had realised an income of £4000 p.a from the estate, for emergencies for the son and his sister [the intent of this passage is not clear].
