P_10433_3046 – John Campbell
Probably of Charleston. ‘Campbell’ appears as the owner of the Minerva on a voyage from London to Congo North and Charleston arriving in 1806. A ship of the same name with the same captain left Charleston for Loango and Montevideo later that same year, when the owner was shown as John Campbell in TASTDB. George Allen Aylwin (q.v.) of London used a John Campbell of Charleston as ‘supercargo’ in his slave-trading between Africa, Havana and Charleston, according to a petition of 15/03/1809, by which time Campbell was dead.
