P_10433_3052 – James Morison or Morrison
James Morison or Morrison (fl. 1788-1793) was co-owner of two slaving voyages from London in 1789 and 1793, the first by the Gosport and Havre Packet and the second by the Sandown. James Morison was a shipbuilder of Gosport in partnership with John St Barbe (q.v.) and Robert Forbes (q.v.), co-owners of the Sandown, until 1788. No will has been traced for him: neither the will of James Morison of Remenham Berkshire proved 1795 nor the will of James Morrison of the Tower proved 1803 has any obvious connection. He was shown as James Morrison of St Michaels Alley Cornhill in 1793 as part of a syndicate chartering the Sandown.
