P_10433_3167 – Henry Blundell
Henry Blundell was shown as the co-owner with ‘Mason’ on a slaving voyage of the Nancy to Bonny and Kingston in 1784. Henry Blundell was a London merchant in the 1780s, partner with Henry William Mason and Nicholas Masterson for 7 years from 1781. DBS has concluded that this man was Henry Blundell (who later took the name Henry Blundell Hollinshead), son of the Liverpool slave-trader Jonathan Blundell (q.v.) and – after his return to the north-west – the Mayor of Liverpool 1791-4 and 1807, and an important Lancashire colliery owner.
