To my wife Judith Barrett an annuity of £1,500 sterling a year, one half payable from the profits of Cinnamon Hill and the other half from the profits of Cambridge, in lieu of dower. She to have the use of the house at Cinnamon Hill during her widowhood. To trustees Robert Scarlett the elder of Hanover, Henry Waite Plummer of St Elizabeth, Philip Anglin Scarlett of St James, Hon. George Crawford Ricketts (Attorney General of Jamaica), James Scarett (barrister at law, son of the said Robert Scarlett), £10,000 Jamaican currency from my personal estate, but should sufficient funds not be available then this to come from my sugar plantations Cinnamon Hill and Cambridge. In trust for my granddaughter Elizabeth Barrett Barrett, daughter of my late son Henry Barrett deceased at age 21 or marriage. Either to be invested in freehold property in Jamaica or in the British American funds or upon any eligible mortgage at interest. She to take the profits for life. After her death, to each of her lawful children equally. In default to my residuary estate. To the same trustees as annuity of £1,000 sterling p/a payable from Cambridge and Oxford for the separate use and benefit of my daughter Elizabeth Moulton for her natural life. She to have the occupancy of the houses at Cambridge and Oxford estates and Retreat Pen. Various lands and wharfage in Falmouth to the same trustees to be sold for the use of my grandson Samuel Barrett Moulton, son of my daughter Elizabeth Moulton at age 21 and his heirs. Other lands and wharfage in Falmouth and Retreat Pen in St Ann to the same trustees to be subject to an annuity of £200 p/a to Mrs Barbara Smith, the wife of my late son Henry Barrett deceased by virtue of her marriage settlement. The same land and pen to pay the remaining profits for the education and maintenance of my grandson Samuel Barrett Moulton in his minority for his own use at age 21. Then the profits to the use of his eldest lawful son, subject to the sum of £3,000 Jamaican currency for his younger children (to be divided in such shares as he directs by his will). In default to his second son and his heirs etc. In default to daughters in equal shares. Thence to the use of my daughter Elizabeth Moulton for her life and her heirs and thence in trust for the reputed children of my deceased son Samuel Barrett by Mrs Elizabeth Barrett Williams, namely Richard, Samuel, Edward and George Goodin Barrett. To the same trustees, my sugar plantations called Oxford and Cambridge for the use of my grandson Edward Barrett Moulton, eldest son of my daughter Elizabeth Moulton for his life. After in trust to the use of his eldest son and his heirs, then second son etc, then daughters in equal shares, [the same defaults as above]. To the same trustees but including Thomas Reid, my sugar plantations called Cinnamon Hill and Cornwall in St James and my settlement called Pleasant Valley and all other land in St James for the use of my grandson Samuel Barrett Moulton for his life. After in trust to the use of his eldest son and his heirs, then second son etc, then daughters in equal shares, [then the same defaults as above]. To Edward Barrett and George Goodin Barrett, two of the reputed sons of my deceased son Samuel Barrett by Mrs Elizabeth Barrett Williams £10,000 sterling each at age 21. My whole estate both real and personal to be charged with the payment. The above mentioned children Samuel Barrett, Richard Barrett, Edward Barrett and George Goodin Barrett and also my two grandsons Edward Moulton Barrett and Samuel Moulton Barrett and my granddaughter Eliza Barrett Barrett to be maintained, educated and clothed at the expense of my estate until their respective legacies and bequests become due. All rest and residue to my grandsons Edward Moulton Barrett and Samuel Moulton Barrett at age 21.
