Merchant of Antigua, co-owner and probably captain of a slaving voyage from London by the Bassnett to Cape Coast Castle and St John Antigua in 1754 (in which the captain was given as Andrew Lesley), and co-owner of two slaving voyages from Liverpool by the African in 1752 and 1753 destined for St Kitts under John Newton. He was shown as captain and co-owner in 1756 of the ship Bassnett with Nathaniel Bassnett, Thomas Tew and George Walker (each of whom q.v.).
