Co-investor with Robert Browne (q.v.) and Geo. Forbes (q.v.) of a slaving voyage in the Elizabeth ending in Bermuda in 1748 with no port of origin shown in TASTDB. Lightburn and its variations (Lightburne, Lightbourn and Lightbourne) were and remain common names in Bermuda and in the Bahamas, and Jos. Lightburne was very probably the Joseph Lightburn [sic] whose sloop Betsey and Ann from Bermuda was seized at Greenwich in New Jersey in the early days of the American Revolution: George Forbes was certainly of Bermuda.
