P_3073 – Fulcrand Mourgue

London merchant and pewterer, inferred to have been the owner of a slave-voyage between Cape Coast Castle and St Vincent in 1785 captained by Henry Mourgue, his brother. Fulcrand Mourgue was bankrupt in 1784 but clearly recovered. In his will proved in 1813, he left £5000 consols  in trust for his sister Mary Blucke widow of Putney and a further £2200 consols in trust for his godson Henry Perry at 32 Budge Row. He left the lease, equipment and raw materials of his business to the foreman of his manufactories at No. 9 Union Buildings, Leather Lane, Holborn.  His residuary heir was his niece Laetitia Maria Constable, wife of John Charles Constable and daughter of his brother Henry Mourgue.
