Peter De La Motte junior

D.O.B: D.O.D: 1716

The London Gally made two slaving voyages from London in 1713 and 1714 under Charles Hal[l]ifax to Gambia and Barbados for which no ownership information is given in the TASTDB.  The London Gally, commander Charles Halifax, was granted letters of marque in 1710 when ‘Peter de la Mot junior’  was shown as the owner, while Peter de La Motte junior and others were in litigation with Charles Halifax in 1715, the two pieces of information together suggesting that Peter de la Motte junior was probably owner or co-owner of the London Gally at the time of its two slaving voyages. Peter de la Motte junior was dead by 1716. His father Peter de la Motte was a London West India merchant who was bankrupt in 1748.
