Samuel Bean
Jamaica slave-factor (with Lewis Cuthbert and David Bean), and then London merchant, but with 6 voyages from Liverpool between 1766 and 1768. DBS has tentatively concluded the he was also likely to have been the ‘Bean’ given as partner with Coghlan (probably John Coghlan) who were together shown to have been the owners of the Minerva on a voyage from London in 1773. Samuel Bean of Laurence Pountney Lane was bankrupt in 1772. Samuel Bean has been eliminated from the six voyages from Liverpool in the DBS database.
