Sir Randolph Knipe (d. 1728), London merchant, supplier of Baltic goods, slave-trader from Madagascar (although not identified as owner in the TASTDB), and member of the Court of Directors of the Bank of England, co-owner of the Hamilton which made a slaving voyage from London to Madagascar and Barbados arriving in 1717 for which Knipe and Sir John Fryer are connected in secondary sources as the owners, as well as an earlier voyage in 1714 for which nothing is known about the ownership.

The voyage is shown as belonging to Sir Randolph Knipe and Sir John Fryer in Wendy Wilson-Fall, Memories of Madagascar and Slavery in the Black Atlantic (2015). The Hamilton made an earlier voyage (no. 20642) in 1714 under Burnham, from Whydah-Kingston (no port of origin is given), for which again no ownership information is given in TASTDB. Hamilton Galley commander Charles Burnham had letters of marque in 1710 when it was owned by Randalph Knipe, Alderman John Fryer, Captain James Tanner and David Miln of London, merchants, and Elias Prince [sic: in fact, Pearse], TNA HCA 26/15/68. Will of Sir Randolph Knipe Alderman of the City of London [made 20/12/1727] proved 05/05/1728. He confirmed an earlier settlement under which he left his five properties in St Mary Axe to his wife Sarah for life, and left his estate at Epsom to her outright, as well as one-third of his personalty. He left a further one-third among his five children, and from the final one-third he left £5000 in bank stock to his wife Sarah and a further £5000 each to his daughters Elizabeth and Sarah, with his residuary estate going equally to his three sons.
