William Bowden
Born: Unknown
Died: 1780

Owner of a voyage by the Molly to West Central Africa and York River in 1752. In 1756 William Bowden was among the ‘gentlemen…chosen of the committee for managing African affairs for the year ensuing’, one of three representatives for London. William Bowden has been inferred to have been the man appearing as defendant with Samuel Touchet and others in 1757 and very probably the merchant trading to America who was later treasurer of St Thomas Hospital and Director of the Bank of England, whose will was proved in 1780.
